What’s in My Camera Bag? – Meg Faehl

Today I’m going to share the camera equipment I use for my favorite genre of travel photography. Although I prefer using prime lenses when I’m close to home, for travel, you can’t beat the utility of zoom lenses. The kit below is meant for a mix of landscapes/hiking and more urban/city photography. I’m not as concerned about the weight of my pack because I’m not a backcountry camper, so it’s not a minimalist kit. With those things in mind, let’s take a peek into my bag!

Photographing the Ubiquitous Urban Wildlife

There’s one big link between rats and pigeons. Although the species are separated by millions of years genetically, they are drawn together through their shared affinity for humans. Most humans, by comparison, have very little affinity for either species! But as a biologist and photographer, I’m always curious about how their lives are intertwined with ours – and, of course, if it’s possible to take good pictures of these ubiquitous animals. So, join me as I tell a story of urban wildlife photography, with pigeons and rats as the subjects.

Nikon Z 17-28mm f/2.8 Announced – And Nikon’s Strategy Grows Clearer

A second rebranded Tamron lens is coming to the Nikon Z system – this time, an ultra-wide. When the rumors started last week, some photographers hoped that DX would see a bit of love with an adapted Tamron 11-20mm f/2.8, but instead, the lens announced today is the Nikon Z 17-28mm f/2.8.
