Family reunion photography, what kind of wide angle lens should I rent?

Question by Susan W: Family reunion photography, what kind of wide angle lens should I rent?
My family is having a family reunion and I am taking some group shots for them. I decided I want to rent a wide angle lens. I have a Nikon D200 camera. I have a 24mm lens but I am not sure if that is going to be wide enough. I feel that a 10.5mm would be fun but I think that is going to be too wide. I am not sure what the largest group will be, maybe 20 people. Do you have any suggestions?

I just shot a family reunion in Minnesota and I did not even have a wide angle lens-I shot with a 35mm and there were 40 people probably (?)–it worked out swell πŸ™‚ Just had to back up a bit farther to get everyone in the shot πŸ™‚

10.5 would be a fisheye-much too wide ;P it would be terrible for group portraits but fun for a photo or two πŸ˜›
