Sharks live in the wild. I don’t see where wildness stops just because it happens to be underwater.

    Yes, but it is a specialized sub-set that usually is not lumped in together. Wildlife typically refers to bears, wolves, hawks, deer, etc. Sharks fall into underwater photography. So while any underwater fish or shark photography shot in the ocean would be wildlife photography, the skills and equipment required are so specialized that it usually is given its own category.
