what are good camera settings for a wedding?

Question by isaacniceguy: what are good camera settings for a wedding?
i can shoot in manual and nef(nikon) what are some settings to use? I an kinda unsure how to determine how to set my shooting mode what determines the fstop, iso, camera speed and aperature?.. should i shoot in shutter priority? (I know the lighting will change as well as location and backround) How should i set up my sb800 flash? How do i know what value to set it at based on the camera shutter speed? is there a table or basicrule of thumb?

If you are inside set the flash for ITTL if you are outside ITTL-BL As to the other settings there are so many variables. I don’t know what nikon you are using but the metering is good on them. If you are shooting in many different types of light you probably want to shoot RAW so you can fix any white balance problems caused by the mix of different lights. If you can get the flash off the camera, either with a bracket or if your camera body will let you put the SB 800 on a stand and let the built in flash act as a commander module. the SB 800 can be used in the same way a studio flash would.. there are diffusers that fit on the flash to soften the light and shadows and they are well worth using
