i keep watching this b&h wedd stuff and i keep telling to myself…. this
    guys are good, they capture the moments, but tehnically they are not great;
they know how to sell they stuff.

Obviously, that’s working for her, but I tend to stay away from
photographers who in 2014 still rely on the “sitting fee plus prints”
model. I think it’s very outdated to charge $800 for a portrait session
and then charge $10 a print (or whatever) because now days, people want
hi-res copies that they can use online, archive, or make prints. It’s also
unpredictable to see how much it will cost in the end and the result is,
you’ll end up taking photos that won’t sell and you’ll end up doing work
that you won’t get paid for, and the customer won’t get all their pictures.
I always go for photographers that give all their best pictures and charge
for their time. Instead of the above, just say $1000, and you get all your
pics. If you want additional services, then great, if not, no problem,
    win/win.

I saw Kristen Jensen at Unique Photo. Her presentation was kind of
terrible. Giving her a second chance with this.

Great advice on starting your own photography business and how to market it
successfully. I always find that most people tell you you need to focus on
marketing but not actually HOW to do it effectively. I found Kristen’s
presentation extremely valuable and know now exactly how to go about
marketing my small business much better. :)

I can’t tell how good I thought this video was. I live in France, close to
Paris and the issues brought up in this video are just as important here as
they would be in the US. Great video, highly recommended!

Great presentation with many valuable tips to bring back. Well worth the
    time spent watching.

  11. Joshua Boldt says:

B&H, you should link her wedding web page since this is a wedding video.
Her main page doesn’t have any of her wedding info or pics.

    “starting”.

  15. Marcel Suliman says:

Look at her web site first
    http://www.kristenjensen.com
    now listen to the presentation
“so so so technically” repeds all the time
B&H is getting desperate or they cutting budget

  16. Atlantic Picture says:

Good info. It’s always interesting to see another view.
(Also, listening while editing but thank god for the speed settings. ;))

  17. PorcelainVal says:

Decent information. Nothing innovative. She’s a horribly boring speaker,
    though.
