Many thanks to Spencer for taking over the oversight of World Photography News for me while I was in the forests of Ecuador. The news I registered in the past weeks were in a somewhat different vein. For example, a juvenile Harpy Eagle in the forests near Loreto, Ecuador, is doing well. Toucans near Mindo have successfully raised their young, and my favorite female Chestnut-naped Antpitta was probably eaten by something. Now that the photos have been downloaded to the computer and the dirty laundry has been washed, it’s time for me to take over the duty of looking for the more traditional news that has surfaced in the last week.
