    try putting it onto night mode, get a black piece of paper or cover the lens with your hand (this will tell the camera theres very little light therefore hopefully it will automatically increase the shutter speed) then do the light painting or whatever. get someone to cover the lens, then press the shutter. as soon as the shutter is pressed uncover the lens.
