Light painting is a photographic technique in which exposures are made by
moving a hand-held light source or by moving the camera. The term light
painting also encompasses images lit from outside the frame with hand-held
light sources. Light Painting Photography can be traced back to the year
1914 when Frank Gilbreth, along with his wife Lillian Moller Gilbreth, used
small lights and the open shutter of a camera to track the motion of
manufacturing and clerical workers. Man Ray, in his 1935 series “Space
Writing,” was the first known art photographer to use the technique.

Nice video. Maybe not that perfect in sound quality but you get to the
point, and that’s what matters. I would only add a tip: if the “painter” is
not a subject in the picture, he should wear dark clothes, so the light
won’t bounce off from it to the camera and be noticeable in the final
picture, at least not that much when that painter stays still for a few
moments and the camera catches this.

  21. Jordan Clapham says:

By moving fairly quick when taking the photo. Longer you stay in one spot
more of you, you can see in the final image
