Still not putting my M3 in the dry box. Just no.

  2. xyla aqsa says:

do the chrome one’s really shoot better then the black one’s ??

  3. Do Good says:

Never use these expensive cameras for street photography, it is just absurd
that someone would even consider using $8000 camera on streets.

  4. Paul Bielicky says:

Nice camera but I disagree with your title. Any camera brand (Nikon, Canon,
Pentax, Sony etc) in the $1,000 – $1,500 range is a great camera for street
    photography! You don’t need to spend $2,000 – $9,000 for a Leica M series.
    Cheers!

  5. Yohana Taway says:

do you thin Leica is good for fashion photography?

  6. CountryHouseGent says:

I made my Leica badge plain alloy because it had a scratch in the red. I
toyed with the idea of painting it black but as I stripped the paint off to
bare alloy, I realised no one else had an alloy badge. I stripped it with
nail varnish remover. The M8 symbol was already like that when I bought it.
If you decide to do it, I can’t be held responsible if it goes ‘puppies
up’. On the Leica Forum, there’s a few who have done the same. We’ve
decided to call it the M8-P. Enjoy the M8.

  7. CountryHouseGent says:

For sure, but there’s something uncomfortably familiar about this?
Apologies if you don’t know what I’m on about 🙂 See the description for
    the link.

  8. nerrej says:

@CountryHouseGent Did Leica provide the polished/chrome Leica badge and M8
or did you do that yourself?

  9. CountryHouseGent says:

@Tulip12ILY Secondhand, an M8 would set you back about £1400 – £1800 pounds
($2200 – $2800), depending on condition, shutter actuations etc. It’s the
most `Film Like` Digital I`ve ever used, with great contrast, rich blacks &
midtones and even a `Film Like` grain. It feels great to use, with no
shutter lag and despite what people say, quiet, unlike a DSLR. Build
quality is superb, and you won’t find one at Best Buy :-() Plus, it makes
you feel so damn good. I don’t miss Auto Focus.

Hi. It’s called a Thumbie and it attaches with a very strong self adhesive
pad, though easily removed if needed with no damage to camera. Costs a
fraction of the Thumbsup. Search on ebay uk for Thumbie. Very highly
    recommended.

  11. Joska l says:

Xpro1 haves no rangefinder, otherwise is superior compared to M 8. But, is
    not rangefinder.

  12. CountryHouseGent says:

Lol. Sadly, the keyboard is no more. Seems it couldn’t withstand the wife’s
    Starbucks Grande Latte. 🙁

  13. Joska l says:

    P.S. $ 30000 not 430 000, sorry

  14. CountryHouseGent says:

Hi, Thank you. All comments and opinions are gratefully received. I quite
agree. A quick Google search for `Blind Photographers` reveals many
websites. The TIME Photos website features such an exhibition. Here they
show quite stunning levels of work I could only ever dream of being capable
    of.

  15. C Martin says:

Love it, wish I had the money.

  16. RiOtEmpire777 says:

Fancy selling me it or know where i could buy one!!! haha 😉

  17. CountryHouseGent says:

@vangu901 Hi. I sold this camera a few months ago but typically the price
at the moment secondhand is approximately £1000 – £1300.

  18. prehistoricpig says:

As a highschooler, this is the only feasible dream camera for me. Truly I’d
want an m9 but that is not feasible. So i will own an m8 some day.

  19. CountryHouseGent says:

Hi. It’s just a cheapo 39mm metal hood from eBay. It cost about £8 squid.
Just search on eBay for “39mm Hood”. There’s quite a few styles.

  20. CountryHouseGent says:

Occasionally you will find ad’s for New M8’s. The prices of these are
typically high, though $6000 for a new M8 sounds quite steep. Either it is
an M8 and the seller is hoping, or it’s not an M8 and more likely an M9.
Even for an M8-2, 6000 is still very high. When I sold my M8, it was at the
approximate used market value for the time.

“Leica M8, the Best Camera for Street Photography” wow, that’s quiet a
statement, buddy. barudacasin <--- Google search this url. He is a photographer from the Philippines. The cameras he's using is better than this M8 thing IMHO.

  22. Zhemin Lin says:

Awsome Keyboard , ;’D i always want that keyboard, no window key FTW. Oh
    the M8 is great also.

  23. CountryHouseGent says:

Ahh, a man after my own heart. I’ve looked at barudacasin’s blog and see
that he has gone over to film, for the very same reasons that I have. Peace.

  24. Tulip12ILY says:

How much would this camera cost? and i was wondering what makes it better
than a canon you can buy at best buy? i just need some help figuring out
what a camera i need for photography/fashion photography? Sorry U.S dollars?
