Mark/Adorama, I’d be interested in seeing an update to this one.

The biggest problem with all of these camera straps is the fact that the d
ring that attaches to your camera is not tripod compatible. When I do
travel photography I shoot both landscapes on a tripod and people when I’m
milling about which means switching the tripod plate with the d ring over
    and over again.

We recently launched our new photography product on Kickstarter. Here is a
link to the 30-day campaign page:
    https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1436033315/dixie-grip-rotating-handheld-or-mounted-hotshoe-gr

We designed it to replace the common umbrella bracket, ground stand
typically included with speed lights, and of course to be handheld. Be
sure to check out the entire page, there are videos from a couple of other
photographers that tested it and a video that goes over the functions of
    the product.

Would you be interested in writing about the product on your website?

I’ve been using Black Rapid strap for 2 yrs plus. I will say it is good and
easy to carry around. Even when I let my camera hang on the sling, the
camera doesn’t block my body just like neck strap does. BUT the problem I’m
facing is, maybe due to the design of the Black Rapid which turns the
camera upside down when it is being sling, the weight of my flash with Gary
Fong collapsible makes my camera hotshoe loose. I have to go back to Canon
to tighten it. Happened to me once, when on an event, I can’t use my flash
due to this issue. So, which camera strap is best for my situation? Thank
    you, Sir.

I can’t find any sun-sniper steel model with hook and D-ring in the
Adorama.com, even in the sun-sniper website!!! Where I would find this
model??? Send me a link, please!

  7. Carlos Bacci says:

Hi! I can’t find Sun Sniper Steel with hook and D-ring… Wich model is?

  8. auToeXe says:

Personally, I would rather have the knive cut the strap then me. It
probably provides more piece of mind than actual safety.

  9. Carlos Bacci says:

    Someone to ask? Pls?

  10. ptlofts says:

Try to climb up stairs or some kind of elevation and youll see how hard
will be with this strap on..

  11. Robert Kaussner says:

I personally like the Spider Holster (as in the Spider Pro) as it
completely eliminates camera straps all together. As a full-time
    professional photographer, I can’t stand having a heavy professional-level
camera hanging from my neck on a strap of any sort for hours while shooting
an assignment. The Spider Pro is ergonomically superior to any
strap-oriented system as it puts the weight of the camera securely on your
hip/s (they make both one camera and two camera versions).

He never saw Crockedile Dundee’s knife. “Ya cawl dawhd ah knife?”

  13. gewglesux says:

I still have to get used to carrying my DSLR upsidedown.. but it does save
my neck… currently, in Japan i dont have to worry about safety. When i go
back to NY.. that will naturally change… I wish the Black Rapid had that
    steel.

  14. phatcau says:

Just started using the RS-7 from BlackRapid and I love it. I agree with the
other comment , the RS-5 is a bit too bulky. Something to consider, BR
offers a number of “Mods” that allow you to add storage components for cell
    phones, memory cards…

  15. Zee Wil says:

awesome Mark, thanks for answering my question! great stuff!

  16. ramdawgy says:

i want a sun sniper steel!

  17. RMO6701 says:

A friend recommended the sun sniper so I’m on my way to adorama….

  18. Ken Cheng says:

I actually own that Cotton Carrier with the vest+side holster. At the same
time I also have the Black Rapid DR-1… both have pros and cons. The
Cotton Carrier lets you hassle around or even run around at events where
you need to move around fast, where as the Black Rapid DR-1, you’ve got 2
cameras dangling. THAT said, the Black Rapid lets you switch cameras a LOT
faster than the Cotton Carrier. I switch back and forth depending on what
    I’m shooting.

  19. reptedjess says:

That’s not really what the stops are for. They are to lock the camera in
place. You really need the Joey strap that comes with the sport model for
them to be fully effective though. They can be purchased separately. This
is my favorite feature of all of them.

  20. KingCole says:

@ashkibala1 when you buy a $2000 camera you want to hold it with quality,
    quality isnt cheap.

  21. Saad Mughal says:

There’s so much I wouldn’t have known if it wasn’t for Mark

  22. Oscar Todd says:

I have not used a strap other than the one regular with the camera itself
but makes sense to not carry the camera on the “usual” position…thanks
    mark….O

  23. WiseGuy02 says:

Mark just bought a Sun Sniper Steel. I was always concerned about someone
cutting my camera strap, so always wrapped the strap around my hand and
held the camera. Thanks for the review.
