Thanks for the mic testing, it shoes the windscreen is not efficient at all. The wind noise is attraction more attention then what you are saying. Too bad.

Not hating on your efforts to make a good tutorial video but I really hate HDR “photography”.. it looks completely fake and cheap. Its not photography, its photo art.

Hi! Have you tried photo sfxart tricks (search for it)? My cooworker Jamie made some extraordinary pictures with their video lessons.

You edit photos to make it so it looks ideal to you or your client. What looks good is a total matter of opinion. I may like the overdone look like Trey Ratcliff’s photos (the pioneer for HDR). While you like the more natural look. That doesn’t mean you have to be a photography elitist where every photo that doesn’t look good to you is a bad photo and you have to go and tell everyone how bad their photo is.

I don’t believe your comment when you write, “sorry about the wind…. I accidentally deleted the audio from my microphone, so I had to use the camera’s awful microphone.”
I think you are lying and here is why — interesting that the volume increases when you look away from your camera toward the hand-held microphone.
Would be a good excuse, but the evidence is against you!!

  16. markpianoman says:

That photo would have been really dramatic if you had caught the person in the white shirt walking on the beach early in your video.

  21. Sssmoothy says:

3:50 Ever heard of the “previous” preset? The settings were exactly as you left them when you edited the photo the first time… -__-

  22. 4Patat says:

That’s a very ‘creative’ way of using Photoshop. Why would you use HDR technique? Just expose for the sky a bit more. Or use a filter on your lens. A bit of a tweak at most in LR and your image would have been a much more natural landscape.
But an even better suggestion would probably be to take the picture at another time of day.
