How do you print a full 4×6 photo without having the picture cut off?

Question by txlady: How do you print a full 4×6 photo without having the picture cut off?
recently got a new camera a Canon power shot sx20is, it takes great pictures, but everytime I try to print them on my computer or even send them out for printing it is unable to print the entire picture. If I fit it to a 4×6 photo our heads are cut off. Does anyone know what the problem is? Is it something that I can fix with my camera settings?

The aspect ratio of a 4×6 print is 2:3, while your camera is likely 3:4. In layman’s terms, this means your camera sees about 1/4th more on top than will print in a 4×6 photo. So if you’re aiming for a 4×6 print, when you shoot you should try to avoid framing things in the top 1/3 to 1/4 of the frame.
