M Potter, Thanks for taking the time to comment!
We take pride in offering the only 100% (right down to the screws) made in
USA carbon fiber tripod. You’re absolutely right that it does cost more to
produce a tripod this way, but we believe in supporting US jobs, and that
    quality is worth the price.
We don’t offer discounts on any of our products outside of the already
listed package pricing discounts offered for a few of our larger items.

Nice quote!!! They’re (ThinkTank) not known for being the least expensive
gear out there. How about you guys even making screws in the USA to have us
pay high prices. Screw made in China with your supervision would be as good
as a screw made here. I paid almost $200 for Really Right Stuff Universal
Leveling Base TA-U-LB last month. You guys didn’t want to even give me a
bit of discount. You could buy a decent tripod with $200. Not all of your
customers are rich. I ended up buying Induro Tripod system which is
amazing. RRS Tripod/Ball Head would have cost me at least $2000. Giving me
a 10% discount wouldn’t hurt your company considering the Leveling Base
isn’t perfect and its socket screw doesn’t lock it in place fully. The
socket screw on the base around the butterfly ring is closer to the rim
than the center therefore it doesn’t get used pushing the screw into the
tripod platform. I was able to only use Induro’s own locking screw to
attach your Leveling Base half way secured. You call it Universal but is
still perfect for your expensive systems not my Induro AT214 and Induro
    BHM1 Ball Head.

M Potter, I agree that RRS has a high price point on their equipment but if
you compare them to high end manufacturers like Gitzo and FLM, you’d find
that their prices are in the same neighborhood. I for one couldn’t spent
RRS prices on their tripod so I did what you did and purchased an Induro
carbon fiber tripod but I did buy a RRS head just because the price
difference wasn’t all that large when it comes to ball heads in that level
    and I could afford that.
btw – nice video. I hope to see more of them.
