Best wildlife photos of the year 2010

Wildlife Photographer of the Year, an international wildlife photography competition, is held every year by the Natural History Museum and BBC Wildlife. Sponsored by Veolia Environment, this world’s most prestigious competition first took place in 1964 with three categories and nearly 600 entries. The 46th exhibition will debut at the Natural History Museum of London on October 22nd 2010. The following photos on wildlife are among 100 prize-winning photographs including the overall winning images. It can be seen that photographers all over the world wish to win this prize. Remarking about the competition, Chairman of the judges Mark Carwardine said: “Nothing speaks louder than an evocative photograph that stirs the imagination, tugs at the heart strings and engages the mind. The competition plays a crucial role in raising the profile of wildlife photography and generating awareness of conservation.”
