Great idea bertholdelias. I will do so!
New video review is live…
Thanks Glenn—That’s a well organized page with helpful info on lenses.
Just a follow up question: the 300mm and 400mm–are about the same price.
Would one not get more bang for their buck purchasing the 400mm?
What lens would you recommend for bird photography for those who dont have
the budget for this lens. My Sigma 70-200 2.8 is too short and everyone I
speak to tells me to stat clear of teleconverters.
Hi Glenn–Thanks for much for the You-tube video. it was great and I’d love
to get the lens. I’ll have to say the price is kind of a show-stopper. What
would you suggest is the best equivelant in the $1000-2000 range. Is this
one you might consider Tamron SP 150-600 Di VC USD lens video.?? Just
wondering…I’ll check out your website..maybe you have suggestions there
too. Thanks again
couldn’t here a darn thing dude great video n that lens , but I had to use
cc to see what you were saying .
Thanks for share your experience with us. Keep doing. Regards from Brazil!
what is your opinion on the new super zoom cameras that fit in your
pocket.. Panasonic has one with a 700 mm optical zoom for 500 bucks this
not a bridge camera either it is a pocket camera… How much difference
does the crop on a full frame sensor make….. I think they could build a
sight out side the lens so you can see the target… Kinda like finding the
target looking through the barrel…impossible
Hi Glenn, it would be really nice, if you could do a comparison video
between the Canon 400mm f/5.6 and the 300mm f/4.0 is with the 1.4
teleconverter and which one is better for wildlife, if you have to chose
just one lens (+ teleconverter) . Thank you
Wow that’s quite a big one indeed! … I guess that huge lens hood at the
end makes it look even bigger.. :-p
I wish I could own this someday, or a 400 2.8. But…. with a price like
that… it’s almost like, buy a new car… or buy a lens, lol. But, a
lens could return money, while a car will lose value/cost money. I’d want
to get insurance on something like this though….
Good review Glenn. I love my old 600 but that 3lb difference and better
balance is actually enough to make me want to upgrade.
Nice video , but I will go with 500mm for ( $2400 + weight ) and with a
little crop it’s 600mm :)
Thanks for the review. So what is the total weight of the 600mm and 7D?
How long can you hand hold it without getting tired? You look as if you’ve
been getting some good arm workouts. 🙂
I seriously want one of those bad boys, but I fear it will sit at home
while my 400mm is out with me in the woods. :(
Love all your vids and reviews. That lens is truly drool worthy but 12K?
If only… I will be on the lookout for what you shot with it while
there in the Amazon. I’m sure you came back some amazing captures as
always.
wow, you just picked up that lens with the body mount in the beginning of
video, that 7D must have a good built!
That lens looks amazing! =-D
Excellent Review, thank you
