The Tamron SP 45mm f/1.8 Di VC USD is a standard focal length prime lens that was announced in September of 2015 for Canon EF and Nikon F cameras. With its wide aperture of f/1.8 and built-in image stabilization (at the time of its announcement, it was the world’s first image-stabilized standard prime), it is an ideal lens for low-light photography that is designed for both enthusiasts and professionals.

Nikon released its first portrait lens for the Z mount with the announcement of the NIKKOR Z 58mm f/0.95 S Noct, but it was more of a “show off” lens to demonstrate the possibilities of the new system more than anything, especially considering its exorbitant $ 8K price-tag. The portrait lens everyone else had been waiting for was a reasonably-priced 85mm prime, which Nikon finally delivered in July of 2019. The Nikon Z 85mm f/1.8 S arrived with a price tag of $ 800 USD – a significant increase over the price of its predecessor, the Nikon 85mm f/1.8G.

The NIKKOR Z DX 50-250mm f/4.5-6.3 VR is a compact and lightweight consumer-grade telephoto lens, specifically designed for Nikon’s mirrorless DX cameras. It was announced together with the ultra-compact Z DX 16-50mm VR and Z50 mirrorless camera in October of 2019. While not as compact as the collapsible Z DX 16-50mm VR, it is still a relatively small lens that is extremely lightweight at 405 grams, making it an ideal choice for travel photography.
