Photography News: Leica Monochrom Rumor, Third-Party Lens Sales

Maybe you’ve experienced this too. You sleep in the car so you can reach your spot before the first golden rays of morning light wash over the landscape. In the pitch dark, you fire up your little stove, and soon the earthy scent of vegetation is cut through by the spicy aroma of fresh tea. You walk through a waking forest. Nature laughs, and you laugh with it. Life is good! Just as you slip into your hide, a flock of geese passes overhead. Waist-deep in cold water, you sit in the dark hide. An hour, two, three… somehow the sun forgot to rise today.

Leica SL3 Review

After the Leica M Monochrom and the Leica Q3, I finally had the chance to test the latest representative of Leica’s mirrorless lineup—the Leica SL3. Every time a Leica lands in my hands, I somehow end up bringing it to the rocks to photograph climbers. I’ll admit, given the high price of these cameras, that might not be the safest testing ground. But in such an environment, details surface that I might have overlooked in more comfortable surroundings.

“It’s all about the print.” I’ve believed that since the first time I held a print of one of my photos, and the feeling has only increased with time.
