Fujifilm Announcements: Fuji X-T5 and 30mm f/2.8 Macro

In its final X-Summit of the year, Fujifilm just announced the release of the X-T5, the newest camera in their very popular X-T lineup. They also announced a new 30mm macro lens for the X-Series cameras. With a 40mp sensor, an updated processor with 2x faster readout speeds, and a new AI-based autofocus system, the Fujifilm X-T5 is a camera that many long-time Fuji users have been anticipating.

Working with the Landscape in Front of You

I just returned from a long trip to Yosemite, partly to test some lenses for upcoming reviews, and partly to unwind. Although I had a great time out there, the conditions for “classic” landscape photography left something to be desired: very few clouds or fall colors anywhere.

Nikon Z 600mm f/4 TC VR S Announcement

It was a popular day for photography announcements! Alongside Fuji’s X-T5 and Canon’s EOS R6 Mark II, Nikon officially announced a lens that’s been on their roadmap for a while: the Nikon Z 600mm f/4 TC VR S. As many photographers expected, it’s an f/4 lens and has a built-in 1.4x teleconverter (to make an 840mm f/5.6). It’s also expensive – a whopping $ 15,500, making it the priciest Nikon Z lens yet.

Canon EOS R6 II Announcement + 135mm f/1.8 Lens

The Canon EOS R6 Mark II is the first camera in the R-line to receive a second generation. And no wonder. The original EOS R6 was a very popular camera that shared many genes with its more expensive EOS R5 and even EOS R3 siblings, while costing substantially less. In terms of the price-performance ratio, the R6 stood pretty high. Will the EOS R6 II be the same way?
