Question by dream catcher: Define Aperture-really quick question?
ok, I know what it is I just have a quick question about it- When you “leave the aperture open” does that mean you are using a higher number or lower? or when “you use a wide aperture”
thanks so much 🙂

Wider the aperture, lower the number (and vice versa.)
Strictly speaking the aperture is always ‘open’ whether it is f/1.4 or f/22. But wide open would be the lowest possible number (the widest aperture) the lens could allow at that particular focal length.
