1) Don’t use flash. If that hot spot in your picture isn’t from the flash then you need to watch for things like that and try shooting from a different angle to eliminate it.
2) Use a circular polarizer to remove glare from windows. Rotate the filter as you look through the viewfinder and you can watch the glare/reflections disappear.
3) Keep your camera level.
4) Use a tripod whenever possible.

A polarizer is used to darken a blue sky and to remove glare/reflections from glas, water, sand, snow and painted metal – but not polished metal.
