Time to upgrade to a cellphone camera. Just make sure it is not a Nikon.
the best camera is what you have….its on a photographers imagination how
to capture what we call a magic moment.
Must be nice to have rich parents.
@QQQQcon I enjoy photographers who really want to get it right in the
camera. Thats a good trait you have; but if you want to retain the quality
of your images i would suggest using adobe lightroom. It’s only about 80
for the student version and it would be a small drop in the water compared
to what you have bought. While i strive to get it right in the camera
(without any in camera editing) i also strive to learn how to use adobe
lightroom with care and precision to touch up photos.
@QQQQcon Okay I see your point. BUT, the 5d mkii would be better than a 7D
in almost every category. A smaller sensor only makes your lenses longer
because it’s essentially just cropping the photo, something that can be
done in post anyway. Just like you were saying…. a high megapix count
will allow you to simply “zoom in” by cropping later. Your camera and the
5d mk ii are the way to go for both landscape AND wildlife. btw, love your
setup and love your shots… good job.
Velvia and Provia will give you the same and dynamic range as the Nikon
D3X. The film has a range of +6 and -5 (ISO 100, better at ISO 50) where as
the digital sensor has +5 and -3 (ISO 100)
@YehItsScott before digital camera there were film cameras.
Nice gear mate! I’m a canon dude – no hate for Nikon though. I like the
fact that you are the kind of person that only buys what he needs. Just
like you – i don’t carry around much. Just the 5D mark II with battery pack
, a good L lens, and the 580 EX II Flash. For me , that’s all i need. I
like the fact that you buy what you need, and use you’r gear, for the job
there made for. Thumbs up
Hello! I like how you think about not carrying around too much things.I`m
your opposite,i like to carry almost everything with me,both cameras, all
the filters, all the lenses, you dont know when you need them. This is me 🙂
I recently bought a D3S,for me this was my dream,because i shoot
lowlight. For you is your dream because of the megapixels.I carry the D300s
and the D3s always with me because i dont like to change lenses so
often, especially outside where is dust.Always good videos!i`m your fan!
Great gear, great video, and great photos! Good job and Keep it up! =)
what does the teleconverter do ?
@0BOYCE0 Not much at all
You take wonderful photos, but isn’t something like the 70-200, even with a
teleconverter, not ideal for wildlife? I mean, on a full frame body with a
teleconverter you’d get something like 370mm at the max, f/4.8. That does
the job, but don’t you think that you’d be better off with a 300mm f/4 and
a 1.4 TC, where you’d get a 420mm 5.6 with better performance and faster
AF, or even a 300mm f/2.8 where you’d get 420mm with an f/4 aperture? Those
combos give sharper pics and faster AF speeds.
Cool, You and I have almost your same setup minus the D3X, which is too
much for just a hobbiest like me. I have the D7000, 14-24, 70-200, and
17-55MM 2.8 for DX. I am wanting to shoot full frame but since I do not
make money off of photography I might get the less expensive D800. I also
see you live in Arizona. This is a great place for landscape photography.
Cool video!
@QQQQcon Also i saw your flicker. I like your pictures. Yes i am not a hate
ball. I didn’t enjoy that golden pine shot but hey that’s just me. I liked
the wild life photos. The colors are really vibrant. Nice work.
@QQQQcon Fair enough. By the way. This is off note. But shooting sunsets in
jpeg and using in camera to edit? Photoshop is a lot better and i believe
raw captures the quality better than jpeg. Jpeg is just your camera
processing the raw file for you. You can always do that later. I just feel
like raw gives way more control to the shooter because the camera does
less:processing, converting, etc.
A Gitzu tripod? You should get a Gitzo tripod 🙂
@OwningGeezer i only shoot jpeg because I dont like editing and prefer to
get my images straight from the camera, it is not a question of which is
better or not.
@S8OR I am not really sure about that, any L series lens will should be
very quick
@MrTanmay27 thanks for your comment, choosing a camera depends on many
things, please check out my videos on the d3100, d5100 and d7000. Those are
the best starter cameras.
@dennisphotography I have link to my flickr and website on my main page, in
the description.
@OldSchoolDo Aperture priority, I am pretty quick with my camera, I have
gotten to the point where I know how to set up the camera immediately for
certain situations, this is due to years of experience.
You don’t own any micro lens?
Very nice collection. I love your cameras and the good information you
share with us. Thank you!
