Question by tami03: What are the first steps to taking up photography as a hobby?
I’m really interested in taking up photography as a hobby, maybe even side job. I’m looking for some advice or pointers to get started. What kind of camera to get, different learning methods……all and all how to improve. Right now, I’m looking into getting a Nikon S4000 or a D60. Any advice would be helpful especially about what camera to get.

Nikon S4000 is a compact camera (fixed lens) . D60 is a DSLR (you have the option of using different lens).
If you are not sure about going for a dslr, buy a compact and start off. In a couple of months you would know which way you are heading.
