I am Glad I Stumbled Across it. :-)

  3. Warner P says:

What will happen if I use sto-fen instead of the wide defuser that is
    built-in into the flash?

  5. Jeff Richards says:

Thanks very much for doing this. Sorry to hear your gear was stolen. I love
the t shirts by the way, especially the one with the camera dial.

  9. Jody McCarthy says:

I love these examples but I wish you would have shown a picture of a
subject using the umbrella options to show how it spreads the subject.
Thanks for all the info though

The guy on the left rules – Sounds like Napoleon Dynamite – Awesome!

Hi Jim and Dustin. Just wanted to say a big thank you for taking the time
to create videos like these. I’m very new to photography and videos like
these are proving invaluable. Thanks guys!

  12. James Swinburne says:

    1. Nice video.
    2. The guy on the left sounds like he’s drunk and barely says anything. Why
is there? Slowly and clearly, enunciation is key!
    4. You say you’re going to show a photo at one point, and nothing is
    shown.

  13. GsGlitterNails says:

I looked at so many videos but u explained it so much better thank you

  14. dgd264 says:

i read somewhere that you can actually use those translucid umbrellas as if
they were silver ones, so the light bounces and softens as well…. good
    vid besides that small thing

  15. Brian Tsang says:

You really should’ve shown what the different umbrellas do on a subject
from a certain distance with each setup and with each umbrella. There’s not
much applicable knowledge here otherwise. But thanks for the share, good to
know how to set up an umbrella

Hi I need a beginners guide on how to set up these umberella a, such as I
have a cannon dslr, what else will I need, for instance I’m confused about
triggers, speed flashes, and how to sync them up :)

  17. fotaugrafee says:

DUDE, I love the “main dial” shirt, where can I get one?…and what else
does it have on it? 😮

I’m a constant preacher of using manual exposure, can’t stand these
“photographers” who use priority modes or god-forbid…AUTO!!!

  20. hyimted says:

good job on this video guys. i definitely learned a few things, especially
how far to put the flash from the umbrella. i agree with the previous
comments: 1. the audio is off and the left/right thing is “jarring”. blend
those channels 2. examples shots: you could shoot against a black wall to
show how the light falls, and using models would have been even better.
regardless, i can see how much effort you guys put into this … and it’s
perfect content for a newbie like me!

  21. Kelvin Noble says:

good vid. dude on the left, nice shirt

  22. gurudeclan says:

You guys are a great team.

  23. Chaos To Grace says:

Thanks for these videos. Very helpful for a beginner like myself. I would
have liked to have seen samples of these umbrellas being used specifically
on a subject/suface, so I could see the differences. For instance, a pic of
person A with type 1, type 2, type 3, and with all different distances and
    diffusers shown. Thanks.

  24. Mai Tucentz says:

Shud up and be thankful for the lesson.

  25. ViTAR30 says:

no photo examples? better to see once than to hear many times.
