I just purchased Aperture and this is a really great idea, Thanks
Thanks, exacly what I was looking for. Allows me to work with these large
RAW’s, while not consuming all disk space on the laptop…
This is absolutely wonderful. Will that work if you have the JPEG’s on one
card and NEF’s on another card? (like with the D7000) Thanks for the great
tutorial!
Then you can’t use this method. It requires that you shoot in jpeg and RAW
Then you can’t use this workflow of importing.
Is there a system like this that I can apply to using Lightroom 5? I just
got it so I’m still learning. Thanks to anyone 🙂
Thanks you !
Unfortunately not. Lightroom doesn’t have this workflow available. I have
since moved to LR 5 but I still use this Aperture workflow to sort my
keeper images before editing in Lightroom.
Dude, this is absolutely a neat trick – something I haven’t seen anywhere
else. Thank you!
Hi – glad you found it helpful. Yes it works, just import the JPEGs and
then make your selections, then put your NEF card in and Aperture elves
work their magic. 🙂
Thank you for posting this very sensible and simple workflow. This is
exactly what I was looking for, as I just recently started shooting RAW,
and was wondering how best to process my files in Aperture. This addressed
both of my concerns; minimizing import time and conserving storage space.
Great job.
What if you have shot only in RAW?
