I have a question….so if I put a Transmitter on my Canton 580EX and then
I will have 2 YN460’s in the back corners with a receiver on each of
them…will that work??
Thank you for the tutorial, but I have a question for you.
Pls what is the watts of the Studio light use normally use.
Really incredible video, guys. Thank you so much.
Are the off-camera flashes on TTL mode or manual mode?
In October I am shooting in a barn…this should help!
Just what I may need for Daz Studio, I’ll get back to this later. Back to
TSFH, and CG 101 texture stuff.
Lipstick?
I have watched a lot of videos on wedding photography and lighting is
always glazed over an the focus limited to composure and shot lists. I
always worry and fuss over my lighting- always. I am glad to see a video, a
great one at that, covering lighting at weddings as the primary focus.
Thanks guys! This is the only video on lighting wedding reception venues
I’ve been able to find on the web. It was extremely helpful and I’m going
to look to incorporate this in my wedding work soon. Much Appreciated.

Isn’t that 1000W light annoying for the guests ? A flash here and there is
nothing. But too see the entire room flash before your eyes might be very
disturbing.
Where can I buy a kicker light? I’ve been doing photography for 2 years,
and would like step up my reception photos. I don’t have a lot of money,
but I need help on figuring out what brand to buy and what equipment I need
with it (like pocket wizzard)
You guys are working WAY TOO HARD to light your weddings. And you require
MUCH MORE EQUIPMENT than needed. There is a much easier way. Use an
on-camera flash with a Rogue Flashbender (or something similar) to soften
the key light. Then put an old Nikon SB-26 (has an electric eye that
triggers the flash when it sees a flash) on a monopod. Hire an aspiring
student to hold the SB-26 behind your subjects. This gives you soft
lighting up front and a separation light from the SB-26.
Great video, thanks for doing this. I am venturing into weddings but i
noticed you used flashes for external lighting source. I would assume
distance as to where you can place them will matter if you use a regular
Canon or Nikon flash or a more high powered one. I want to invest in a
higher powers strobe. Any recommendations? ALso, i use SONY so if anyone
can recommend a high powered strobe or remote triggers i’d appreciate it.
Thanks again.
What if you velcro the pocket wizard to the speedlight?
Hey can you make a video how do white balance with you flash and gel when
the resection is so red and orange, you talk about this in 5:16, i love how
look this pic 5:37.
Quick question – how many lights do you guys usually use? Pocket wizard
seens to be must have, eh? =)
I have a Canon,6D, using a 600EX-RT as my top mount flash and have my PLUS
III connected via the PC connection. And I have PLUSX triggers on my other
flashes. When I fire my 600EX it does not trigger the Plus III so that the
other flashes go off. What setting do I have to go to to make this setup
work?
Great Tutorial. Helped me out greatly.
Are you using TTL for all of these shots? If i had two “kicker” light set
up at opposite corners pointing in at the dance floor as well as an on
camera flash are any of those set to TTL or is everything in manual.
Great information. It is my goal to become a wedding photographer and I’m
still learning photography in general and appreciate every bit of
information I can get. You guys explain things so understandable. Thank
you very much for sharing your knowledge and all of your efforts.
+Fstoppers Fans I dont agree with “you wont be able” to get good
photos….without lighting we all have different techniques, and different
styles….and these ( by far ) arent the best photos ive seen…lol
18:25 men you have some spirit behind you !
this would have been great if i hadn’t already purchased the downloads and
now I’m seeing what i paid for being posted for free. :(
Alot of great information here. You are one of the first to actually
online these methods on youtube. This was my biggest problem at weddings
and I hated the pictures I got. I recently found the Light Stick kitbash
w/ assistant and I think it will solve a bunch of my reception problems.
