An Irish Adventure!

Ireland is one of the most welcoming places on earth, not just for a greeting, a handshake, a story told, or a pint at the pub. It offers an extraordinary welcome to those who come carrying a camera.

From the tunes and bustle of Dublin to the soul satisfying gaze to the sea from the mists of Moher, Ireland rewards the camera generously with a rolling feast of color, tranquil beauty, human warmth and open hearts. Old ways still maintain, such as cutting the peat bogs into strips to dry and burn. The lilt of music is ever present. Add a dash of Jameson’s, and being there is simply a joy for the heart, soul and the lens.

We go next year! The wondrous Tamara Lackey and I teach a workshop that starts in downtown Dublin and then heads west to the historic city of Galway, perched amidst the beauty of the Cliffs of Moher, just by the famed landscapes of the Burren, and home to beautiful pubs, restaurants and of course, Irish dancers.

Above the lovely Siobhan Manson leaps in lively fashion on what is referred to often as “Shop Street” in Galway. Big shout out to wonderful Galway based photog Sean McCormack who brought his flashes to help shoot this on an early morn out on the streets. (Yep, I was without flash, to my everlasting shame;-) We will work with Siobhan and fellow dancers from the Irish Dance Experience during the workshop, offering us the chance to shoot pictures of their amazing skills and also giving our group a special surprise. Bound to be a hoot!

Come to Ireland! History, pictures, laughs, critiques and talking pics, Guinness, lighting, landscapes, music, cliffs, and dancers await. Workshop registration is open.
