The Z7 is the first iteration of a full-frame high-resolution mirrorless camera that Nikon released in August of 2018. The camera was announced together with a 24 MP sibling and three Z-mount lenses. One could argue that Nikon’s entry into the mirrorless market took too long, but many photographers waited patiently for this highly-anticipated system to see the light of the day. With over 100 million F mount lenses out there, the company knew it had a large and dedicated crowd of photography fans. So it was not the question of “if”, but rather a question of “when” the full-frame mirrorless system would be revealed.
